The level indicator on the diplay screen shows the strength of the solar level that is being absorbed which continuously recharges the battery pack. The charged batteries will give up to 27 hours of radio listening that can then be used in complete darkness for this period until it will need re-charging either by sunlight or the mains adaptor.
